An insight into Black women in leadership:
Our recent panel with Local Government leaders
At our recent Black History Month event, our Local Government leadership panel discussed crucial aspects of creating sustainable change in workplace EDI.
Joined by Nottingham City Council’s Mel Barrett, Chief Executive at the London Borough of Newham Abi Gbago, Portsmouth City Council’s Natalie Brahma-Pearl, Joint Chief Exec of both Brentwood Borough and Rochford District Councils Jonathan Stephenson, and our Managing Director Julie Towers, the panel emphasised the significance of mentorship, sponsorship, and addressing injustice to ensure a safe working environment.
“I’ve never felt so exposed than I have when climbing the ladder and moving through senior positions. It’s exposing and it never feels safe”.
The panel, featuring remarkable guest speakers, echoed a shared passion for driving fundamental change.
